Apprentices

Across the business, we are expanding our apprenticeships, bringing career opportunities to the communities that we work within and strengthening our skilled workforce for years to come. For example, you could join us as an Apprentice Plant Fitter - no this doesn't have anything to do with gardening but everything to do with maintaining and repairing our specialist machinery that keeps our surfacers surfacing and our fleet of trucks rolling. But our apprenticeships are not just for those starting out in their career; our more seasoned professionals can also take advantage of an apprenticeship that can further embed and stretch their skills or even take a change of direction within our business. The possibilities are exciting.

Nathan Veness

My name's Nathan Veness. I'm 19 years old and I started working at Eurovia in February 2018. I joined the company with minimal knowledge about fleet and plant machines. Since starting I have been attending the National Construction College in King's Lynn where I have been learning about plant mechanics.

Currently my job role as an apprentice consists of working in our Slade Green workshop and going out with the other fitters and assisting them with repairs, maintenance and servicing of a variety of machines on site.

As well as working on the plant, I've also been learning about vans and lorries, which gives me a broader knowledge and also allows me to work on something different each day.

I'm looking forward to progressing within the company and progressing my career.
